Does anyone else constantly wish to cease to exist?

Postby jill15 » Tue Jul 22, 2014 7:46 am

I am not saying suicide or harming oneself just a simple non-existence. I constantly wish this for myself. Even when things are fine. A bad habit? My life is very "normal" and I function well but have this annoying mantra of "I wish I were gone." Anyone relate?

I don't have a normal life though i appear normal to people. But I think this a lot too. Dor me it's because i always want something out of life that it simply can't give me, it's just work.

I'm feelin the same way but going through bad things is how we evolve and become better versions of ourselves..... or so I'm told. At this point though I hate my life and wish it never happened... Meh...

I completely feel that way today. Having problems with the husband and talking about a possible separation. I just want to go on a very long vacation and sleep for a very long time. Today, I wish my meds actually did numb all my emotions. Unfortunately, they don't. I'm hurting.

Before being medicated i used to think how things could of been for others had i not existed. Now i wish for some things that have happened to me to never exist. But i cant escape the past. I wish my meds took my emotions away also. TO be numb would be great at times

The only time I feel like this is when I'm depressed. Could that be the reason perhaps?

I can't say that I'm filled with joy about my existence otherwise, but I can at least find things to look forward to when I'm not depressed.

I used to feel that way all the time. Currently now not so much but it comes and goes depending on which type of cycle i'm in.

I used to feel that way daily. I became severely depressed later to the point of wanting death and being suicidal. This happened a lot in a span of 8 years or so. My depression was never really completely gone. Now I don't feel this way. I am stable with the help of lithium and two other mood stabliziers and lots of therapy. I feel that life has it's function and my day to go will entually come but it is not here yet. And I am not wishing it to hurry up, or for me to end my life now either.

Everybody is different but or me it was mood related, and it was depression. Constant depression.

I wish I could be teleported to another place in history, or another livable planet.
Kind of like the people in Star Trek. I want to exist. Sometimes not here.
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"
