People tell me to slow down when talking. I dot speak alot but when i do its too fast for most to understand. And my thoughts are all over the place which makes it even hard for me to understand what i am saying. I bet people think i been drinking or doing drugs sometimes. Frustrating at time and funny at other times.

The answer Invicta to that question you ask yourself is.. Damn right I'm awesome!!

I constantly talk to myself and answer my own questions. It drives my wife crazy because she thinks I am talking to her. Or I talk to the cats and dogs we have, again my wife thinks I am talking to her.
One of my favourite things I have done was this...
Me: are you just going to lay in bed all day?
Wife: what are you on about?
Me: you can shut the f up, I was talking to the cat.

We both laugh about this all the time.

 Yeah, that's usually what I answer myself! Good thing I don't have a wife, because I also don't have a cat to blame... ;) But it's great that both you and your wife can laugh about it.

One thing I also remembered is that I make faces. Lots! Raise eyebrows, wrinkle nose, move ears. Stuff like that. Again, it's fine when I'm home and there's nobody there, but it's really hard keeping it in check in public. The other day I was on the bus and caught my reflection in the window: big, stupid grin, eyebrows raised. I tried to stop it and my upper lip was trembling the whole way to work from the strain!!

Some of my best memories of uppity-up are practically that I walk around kitchen table at 4am and talk to myself. Feels like I can make most sense of my thoughts if I talk them out..

After that, I remember some episodes where I wouldn't stop talking. Suppose I'm glad it has mostly been my mother listening to me then, some years after my diagnosis and aware of my mood swings and related changes..

I still do the talking-to-myself part. Mostly telling myself stories or stuff I wish I had energy to actually type down to books. Other than those the uppity-ups come with general hyper-sociality perk that makes me talk to people until they're ready to hit me with something heavy.. I'm sort of aware that I'm obnoxious, especially after the episode. =="

I've taught myself to act normal when I'm manic. I've learned to talk slower during those times and appear more logical. It's weird though, carrying on like you are normal but your mind is going a million miles a minute.

I will talk super fast and can go on for hours! I don't know how people put up with me. The worst part I imagine for others is that all I want to do during those periods is talk talk talk! So they can't escape! lol
