Soo... I went off my meds before the weekend

Postby Sung » Tue Jul 15, 2014 12:25 am

Mostly because I seriously needed to get some stuff done for tomorrow, that I've only just now finished (at 2:30am).

I guess I'm a little bit on the very slightly manic side right now, but I really feel well and in control, and I fully intend to go back on my meds in a day or two. Stereotypically I think I'll go clean the hell out of the flat, and then take a long walk before going to work.

Anyway, I wanted to ask if or when you guys do the same, and what your track record is with spinning out of control or not?

I've gone off of my meds before too. It all depends on what kind of meds you're on though, to be honest.
I think it's different for almost every person because no one's brain is the same, and meds don't effect everyone the same.
The last time I went off of my meds was... 2011 and when the slightest thing happened, I'd be manic and have panic attacks and just wouldn't be myself.
How have you been, without your meds?

I won't leave you
I will catch you, when you feel like letting go
'Cause you're not
you're not alone.

Don't wait until you crash to start your meds again.
That is just plain dumb, but the clear headed energetic phase is really seductive and I understand wanting to stay in it.

Begin your meds again right away. Don't put it off until tomorrow. Then it may be too late.

This is not your mother talking. I am a bipolar man who learned years ago that skipping meds was a fools game.

I missed my meds once and not even all of them, one dose out of two per day. The day after I got suicidal after a long (for me -- a month or so) period of stability.
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

I'm back on the meds now.

Over the weekend I met someone and when I started freaking out about whether he'd like me or I'd like him & a million other variations on the theme, if I started taking my meds again, I called my best friend and talked his ear off about it for a couple of hours. At which point he told me I was starting to sound like his mother (who has schizophrenia). That kind drove the point home.

I'm glad you went back on before you became uncontrollable.
Your friend deserves a medal for listening to you for hours and giving you the information you needed to smarten you up.
