Not on that medication but going to check into it. I'm really glad to see a happy post. Sometimes it's dreary in this forum. It's nice to see someone feeling great! CONGRATULATIONS! Hope it continues!

I loved it for about 12 days, and then had several of the most bizarre days of my life, and stopped.

Good luck - if it keeps working that would be great

thanks, i hope that it does too, the only downside that i am seeing, is that when i do have a mood episode now, it sends me straight down to suicidal feelings and desires, but eventually, i can get back on my feet again, it's pretty nifty

Lamictal & birth control

Postby sweetpears » Thu Nov 02, 2006 4:37 am

Just a BIG FYI for all the ladies on Lamictal, that Lamictal is known to make birth control (the pill) effectually *useless* in preventing pregnancy (we don't want any surprise lamictal babies popping up everyone now..). I do believe that the "shot" is supposed to still be effective, however I would do your own research on it.

i am on lamictal i just started it this past friday 25 mg every other day for 2 wks then 25 mg 1 a day for 2 wks the only concern the P had was is this med going to offset my migraines as some seizure preventives that are used for treating bi-polar are known to do that hmmm i guess i will wait to see i was also warned it can cause a rash and to stop the med pronto!

yeah if the rash doesn't pop up after a pill or two your cool, it's amazeing because it has virtually no side affects side from short term memory losse, wow, i was 25 first week everyday, 50, then 100, then 200, then 300, anyway, so what about the migranies, is it supposed to stop them or somthing?

some meds offset my migraines the p is concerned as i get 15-20 migraines a month and she is afraid that this med might off set them and make them intensify i have been on alot of anti-seizure med there i have been on depakote, tegratol, topamax ,neurontin i have also been on alot of different anti-depressents as well my body has a high tolerance for meds funny after awhile they dont work even if the dosage is increased i remember being started off on 150 mg effexor and it didnt even make me feel any different in anyway or even zzzz i have been on paxil , i have been on elavil xanax and other anti-depessants but cant remember their names as i have been on loads of meds i think they fried my brain somewhat memory wise

that sucks, have you ever seen a chiropractor for your migraines, they may be med related but alot of migraines can be treated with chiropractic care, mds won't tell you about them because putting you on meds makes the drug reps happy and everyone richer, homeopathic remidies are natural, maybe natural things are better for organic beings?
