ECT personal experience

Postby Lost Ingrid » Wed Jun 04, 2014 2:07 pm

My depression is both persistent and recurring and I'm not good with med compliance. Does anyone have any experience with ECT? The visions I have of it terrify me so I'm looking for anyone who knows more about it ; anyone who may have had success would be even better.

Thanks
Ingrid

I have not had ECT but I have had some experience related to it. I know that it is used in BP at times and can be helpful. Ppl who have it quite often seem to get memory problems but (in some at least) I dont think this is permanent. In terms of having it you would be anaesthetised so would not be aware of what is going on. Like I said I have not had ECT so cant comment directly on it but those are some thoughts I have. i hope that some ppl who have had it are able to comment here
