Twitches

Postby kittycasper » Mon May 26, 2014 1:26 pm

Hi it's been a while I'm doing much better.

I started taking latuda almost a year ago. In the last few months I've developed something new. I get a twitch in my leg or alarm then directly after that my head jerks to the side. If the twitch is big the head jerk is big. If small then small. It's very weird my husband has seen them and says it's not to noticeable. Is this a medication issue I know Latuda can cause muscle movements but this head thing isn't mentioned. It happens every time. Most of the twitches are in my legs but sometimes in my arm and even hand. As soon as the twitch is over the head goes. Its immediately after.

I'm really hoping some one can tell me they have had this and it's nothing. I don't want to go to the doctor with it because frankly our insurance stinks and I know they gonna want to run me through the gambit of test. That's just not what i want to spend my money on ya know.

It sounds like a tic-like movement which is listed as a side-effect of the latuda. Per the website I'm looking at, it's one of those side-effects that one needs to contact their doctor immediately.

The first thing I did was go to the website for Latuda. I mentioned in my post that twitches are a side effect. I just haven't found anything explaining the fact that the first one triggers another twitch. I was looking for some one whose taken the med and had the same reaction. But either way I guess I need to go to the Dr.

I had twitches a while back and it always started in my left hand. Sometimes it spread to my right hand or my shoulders, sometimes my head, like i am trying to shake something off. It almost always began in the left hand.
I don't think that's uncommon.

Thanks for all the input. I have an appointment set already to see psychiatrist so i'll just tell her about. I almost absolutely can not switch medicine. I had a rough way to go last spring and summer. We finally found one that works. I tried a ton of different medicine. I just can not stop taking this pill it was one of our few options left.
