Risperidone and Sex Drive

I am currently taking 0.5mg of Risperidone and have been taking it for about 7 months. I was on a first dose of 1.5mg and have been weaned down to 0.5mg. I am currently being weaned off of it. I have little to no sex drive and I was wondering if anyone has experienced their sex drive returning after stopping the medication. I also have little emotion and low motivation. I am also wondering how long it will take for me to return back to normal after stopping. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you are having such side effects.
That's the way it is... sometimes the side effects are worse than the illness.
I was only on respiridone for 4 days because it made me light headed and I fainted twice.

I'm fairly certain that I have an abnormally intense sex drive, so when I was on Risperdal, I actually felt much calmer about sex than I have, perhaps, in my entire life. It was, in a way, "nice," to have the edge taken off.
When I stopped the Risperdal, my sex drive did return full force. A blessing...and a curse.

On Risperdal (I can't remember how much I took but I think 1 mg) I had no sex drive. Zero. Killed with a rock. Once off it, my sex drive returned in a few days. I never realised how important it is for me to have a normal libido -- I don't ever want to take this medication again. "Lower" would be OK, but no libido is... unacceptable.

I was on 4mg of risperidone at one point and it did knock out my sex drive - probably because I was a zombie on it. I cant remember how long it took to come back but it was a little while - I was in hospital depressed at the time tho so that probably had something to do with it being lower anyhow

I was on 4 mg as well to begin with and it was so intensely numbing that I went down to 2-3 mg for a few months. I did notice that my sex drive was non-existant, after stopping the meds it came back almost immediately. It was quite an easy one (by that i mean minimal side effects) to come off of!
