Diagnosis

Postby andyoumightbe » Thu May 08, 2014 3:59 pm

Hello!

Not been on for while i have been up and down and tend to disappear!

Anyway for those that i have interacted with i have finally been diagnosed, but not with Bipolar.

After many speculative efforts and suggestions of OCD, Bipolar and ADHD my psychiatrist(s) (i have seen 2) i have been diagnosed with a Personality Disorder...

A specific type has not yet been given as i am due back soon to pinpoint my type and get moving forward with talking therapy and they have changed some of my meds for my current up and down depressive state.

So i will shoot over to the Personality Disorder section!

Thanks for listening!

I will probably pop back in and out!
Personality Disorder with Major Depressive Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder

Meds -
Diazepam
Mirtazapine

Getting a diagnosis is a milestone in your journey.
Before it there is so much unknown and speculating on the cause of behavior is stressful.

After diagnosis, you can develop a plan with your psychiatrist and get on the right medication. You can also get therapy tuned to your needs.

I hope life begins to go better for you. It doesn't happen all at once, but steady growth is possible.

Take care,
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"

I think that having a diagnosis can be very helpful. I hope now you can really focus on addressing whatever needs to be addressed. And you can always pop back here in the BD forum if you feel like it! You're always welcome! :D

I wish you all the best.
