Hello
I have recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
I'm just looking for maybe some stories or advice of the wise, or even just general support

Hi. Welcome.

Personally, I need a little bit more to go on for stories and what not but I'm sure other people will be more apt to talk...

Hi and welcome

You might want to check out the What's Your Story sticky as this has a wealth of content about peoples' experiences with bipolar.

Do you want to talk a little more about your story?

Hello Maddixmor,
Welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed 10 years ago, but now that I know what to look for, I can see I had mild mania and mild depression going back 40 years to highschool.

I check the forum every day to read the new posts and if I'm inclined to answer one or two, I can be on here for an hour or more.

For me, staying well involves me taking my medication as prescribed and trying to live a healthy lifestyle.
Eat good food (not too much pastry and candy)
Get regular exercise - I don't do enough of this.
Get proper sleep - I sleep too much
Keep up with cleanliness - Shower, shave, etc
Stay in touch with friends and family.

I Don't know what comes first... Depression or poor lifestyle, but I know they both go together.

I hope you find reading the posts here informative and supportive. I believe we genuinely help each other.

Stay in touch. Tell us about yourself, ask any questions.

Take care,

Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"
