Seroqual and bipolar

Postby Hope911 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 8:56 pm

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and a bit worried.

I've been on seroquel 25mg on 2 days now and my mouth is sore and my lips is sensitive like when you have high fever. My throat got sore today and now I have problems swallowing.

I ask my psychiatrist about it and he said it is not the seroquel, but it started just after I started taking it. My muscles is also starting to get stiff.

Does anyone maybe have these symptoms when they use this drug? I'm really worried and don't feel good. :(

Hey Hope,
I'm sorry that ur feeling so awful! I'm on Seroquel, but I've never had symptoms like that... Just drowsiness, which is why I take it before bed. Could you just be sick or coming down with something?
I hope you feel better and find out the cause of this!
Take care,

Seroquel and bipolar

Thanx Queen

I'll keep you posted.

Isn't there an easier way to reply to a post that to type in the name of the topic again each time?

Hope,
I only take my Seroquel when I'm actively psychotic or if I absolutely can't sleep, because it gives me restless legs. They twitch and jerk and it's really very uncomfortable.

I've never had the other symptoms you've described, but I looked up possible side effects and it lists fever, dry mouth, rash, infection, pharyngitis and rhinitis (sore throat and runny nose). There are several lawsuits against this drug company because of its association with diabetes and diabetic coma, but you're on a very small dose. I believe there is a post with a 'sticky' on it right above yours that talks about up to date drug announcements too. Hope that helps, and good luck.

:D

Thanx Angel,

Now I know where my "flue" symptoms come from. My doctor denies it, but I don't care. I'm now on 50mg and it works perfectly.

Drug Fever

Postby Forgiven » Mon Aug 21, 2006 5:24 pm

I have had similar symptoms with Seroquel but over 2 years ago. It happened for about a week and I even went to the hospital with no results.

Seroquel gives me "drug fever" I typically have a fever running between 99-100 degrees everyday. After complaining to several different doctors and to Astra Zeneca (maker of Seroquel) to find out is this ok - to have a fever ever day. What is this doing on a cellular level? It seems strange to run around with a fever everyday. Is it frying brain cells? DNA damage? A trusted PA did some research with a hospital and a trusted Dr. and found that it shouldn't do any harm. That's the last I heard.

I also had a stiff neck, sore muscles and fever at one point but like I said that was over 2 years ago. It went away - I felt almost like I had the flu. Perhaps you have something going on like someone else posted.

Good luck to you. Hope things get better.

:?

I did real good when they lowered my dosage to 25mg, then the increased it again to 50mg. I felt fine the first two day's, but today I don't feel good. I also have a stiff neck, so much I get terrible headaches and I got sinusitis and can't see through my eyes!I had terrible cravings the first 2 days, but now I have trouble to eat.

I hope it goes away!!, coz it works fine for me.

Recently went up to 200mg of Seroquel and went through the same problem as I did a few years ago. Flu like symptoms and fever. But after a week or so of MISERY and complaints to the Pdoc. He only lowered it 25 mg - (which didn't do anything) I finally came out of my strange symptoms again.
