My kind of therapy

Postby Type1person » Wed Mar 26, 2014 7:32 pm

Hi, first time poster but I was told by someone to get on some forums and talk about things I go through. I was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago with Bipolar Type 1 and recently co-morbid with Borderline personality disorder. I just wanted to make this post with something I've made last night after getting out of the hospital for the 4th time. Songs and Movies have always been a huge part of my life. Over the past year I've been making videos to songs with videos from Vimeo for a bit and here is one, hope you all like it.

Thanks! I had this irrational fear that everyone hates the stuff I do, but I've posted it on Reddit/r/BPD and here. Thank you all so much for watching, it means more than I can currently explain.

Excellent music video.
I couldnt do that.

How is your safety net? By That I mean your friends and relatives who you can count on if things get really bad. Having someone to talk to is very helpful. It drives away loneliness.

You didn't say if you are seeing a psychiatrist or other mental health professional regularly. Are you? It would be a good idea to get that help.

Take care,

(Now I have to go out and pay for my home insurance... Sometimes just keeping up with life is difficult, but doing the necessary things is good for me.)
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"

Thank you!!

My safety net of the the years has dramatically fluctuated, but I believe it's rather solid now, I am seeing a psychiatrist monthly, and have had the same one for 2 years. (She diagnosed me with the BPD) I just got out of the hospital and thankfully I have insurance and have been doing an Intensive outpatient group therapy program. The IOP therapist suggested I post some of my stuff and become active in forums and blogs :)

I made another video for you folks! Been under a lot of stress lately and figured I should get back at the video making. Thank you all again for the warm welcome and wonderful comments! I've found editing is a way to express myself and it has been helping.

Have you ever thought of getting into movie editing or something like that as a profession? It seems like you have a great skill in that area. Thanks for sharing!
