I am only on 200mg

My memory is really poor, and I can't concentrate. I work part time in a bar, and literally have to get drinks orders repeated to me as I do the thing, it's a bit of a joke. Motivation is also really bad. When I miss one dose, the next day I feel much more awake, even though I won't have slept a wink because I need the damn stuff to sleep. Will be switching to lithium in the hope that it will provide what I need without quite so much "cognitive blunting" aka turning me into a slug.

Some people think it's great though, so must be an individual thing.

Also feel a definite lack of connection when talking to people, like a distancing effect almost

I am bipolar one very severe many years ago, however I was fully treated to normal for 36 years with depakote and lithium. However I had to get off lithium due to kidney issues and am now on seroquel only 150mg at nite and 50mg in am. I thought it was me (68 years old) but now find I also have this memory loss issue. Btw I became a teacher and an owner of a multi million dollar mfg business. One thing I can tell people is that we know this is strictly a short term issue and we will find we still recall things from 30, 40, 50 years ago. I can remember classmates I had in grammar school for example and recall events. Today I will have that memory cloud but I will recall names after a few minutes to perhaps longer. I think our best way to handle this because seroquel is an antipsy is to do things that sharpen our memory. Reading and word games can help us. I know some of us think its dementia but if you check your memory, see what you do recall, and you will probably find this med the culprit. I knew right away it was seroquel because I am a historian on The American Revolution and sometimes forget simple battlee names like Cowpens, or Kings Mountain. Take a few minutes away from the thought and I recall more easily. Long term memory seems uneffected
