I too have dealt with severe insomnia, and it made me psychotic. I was prescribed Olanzapine and that was effective, but with serious physical effects. I guess it's unlikely that it's legal wherever you are, but you could look into weed to help. Specifically, Indicastrains. They have higher CBD content which is a natural anti-psychotic and they also are analgesic and anti-anxiety. It may not work for everyone, but personally I vaporize some good indica weed every night, and since doing so I have been able to get off medication with no withdrawal symptoms (I was on 15mg of Olanzapine, and when I first reduced my prescription without using weed I experienced horrible withdrawal symptoms). At the very least, I recommend doing some research. Here's just one article that expounds on the benefits of CBD: http://psychcentral.com/news/2012/06/07 ... 39803.html

Good luck!

I am trying to quit weed specifically skunk (that's all you can get here and yes it's illegal) the reason I'm trying to quit is to be honest the strain I'm taking is making me more psychotic. It's quite a strong strain of cannabis. Which may be partly why I'm having trouble sleeping as I'm trying to go without that bedtime joint. It also has major contraindications with my anti psychotic my husband showed me a study which found liver damage had a high occurrence with users of cannabis and my anti psychotic so I really need to get off it. But thanks for replying.

Right yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Skunk is a hybrid, and THC can aggravate psychotic symptoms. The plant has an in-built mechanism against that by containing other substances with anti-psychotic properties, most notably CBD. As a general rule, the lower THC levels are to be found in Indica strains, so if these aren't available where you live then I couldn't agree more that quitting cannabis is a good idea. Best of luck with things.
