Risperdal and Latuda

Postby vanessa1982 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 1:03 pm

Hey, I'm newly diagnosed with bipolar (I think 2?) and I'm on 4mg of Risperdal and 60mg of Latuda. I am stiff. It's been a month since my Risperdal was increased from 2 to 4mg and I'm LESS stiff than I was. I was waking up and not being able to move without extreme pain, but my family says I still look really stiff. Will this go away?

Also, has anyone taken Latuda? It made me really restless for the first two weeks, I've sort of normalized now although I don't really feel entirely like myself. How long has this medicine been on the market?

Thanks for any help. I'm getting really frustrated with this whole process.

Latina helped my mood, but I had to stop because it made me aggressive and quick to anger; and it caused this jaw clenching thing that became uncomfortable and very noticeable.

I think it is really important that you tell your Dr about this soon - in case it is some sort of movement disorder brought on by meds. They can assess you and see if anything needs doing about it

Im on 60 mg Latuda, but I started on 20mg then went up to 60mg over time.. From my experience Latuda really helped me alot, it got me out of really bad depression, suicide thoughts, racing thoughts, and anxiety.. I used get panic attacks out in public places alot, like malls, stores, and social situations, and Latuda fixed all of that for and me, thank god :) I dont get any side effects from it which im really happy about that.. Maybe talk to your doctor or maybe decrease the dosage

You do definitely need to call your doctor right away - this could be a serious symptom and you shouldn't be waiting it out.

Latuda hasn't been on the market very long at all, which is why it's still a very expensive med. It helped me hugely with a number of symptoms.

I am very curious, though, why you're on two antipsychotics. This happens, but it's a controversial practice, and does increase the risk of side effects. Are you being treated by a psychiatrist?
