bipolar/delusional disorder

Postby familygirl » Sat Jun 17, 2006 8:58 pm

My brother has been delusional for around 5 yrs now. It started in his early 40's and has gotten worse over time. He trusts no one. He thinks the government has spent billions of dollars trying to kill him. They put a chip in his shoulder to track him. They communicate via cell phones to track him. They harrass him wherever he goes. They torture him with ultrasonic weapons from drones flying miles above. They are frying him. They are everywhere. He has hundreds of tapes that he recorded while driving. ANYONE on the road is out there to harass him. He thinks I am part of the conspiracy...and other members of our family. It's so sad and pathetic that he really honestly believes these things are happening to him. From research I've done, I thought it sounded like delusional disorder but I'm wondering if he is also bipolar. Can it be? He was recently admitted to a state hospital..court order for 20 days....probably more. I feel helpless knowing he is there not trusting anyone and thinking they will kill him while he is there. I hope they can help him. Thanks for listening.

He is delusional but why? My wife is bipoalr, Is it paranoid personality disorder, no not with delusions, but he might have been bipolar and gone into psychosis, which is referred to as paranoid schizophrenia.or mania with psychosis.

He needs to be monitored for his delusions are real to him. He might see for example someone attaching you. ... how would he respond/?
