I've taken a few drugs that weren't legal in the time before I was diagnosed with bipolar. So what might happen if I took them again? I'm mostly interested in mushrooms, which I've only taken a few times. I'm not an avid drug user, and I've never had any urge to take any more than a low, infrequent dose of any drug -- even with the drugs I've been prescribed that are addictive. I rarely drink either.
This is probably a slightly unanswerable question, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any general knowledge in this area. I know that mushrooms increase the amount of serotonin in your system when you take them, which could possibly be bad if I was on an SSRI (which I'm not). Though I'm just extrapolating this from the knowledge I have that ecstacy (which also boosts serotonin release during use) can be bad to take with SSRIs. I take Lamictal, and Adderall.
Thanks,
Jessie

recreational drug use is the quickest route back to hospital you could find.
I know because it happened to me, just from bush/skunk.
Look at how unpredictable the effects of drugs can be even on 'normal' people and that they don't always have a good trip, or feel paranoid.
You may have fun, or you may end up in the psychiatric hospital.
It's not worth the risk just for fun.
It's playing russian roulette with yourself and sooner or later you'll lose.
I know this thread is old but i hope you come back to read it.
