Porridge on the floor

Postby shattered_shard » Tue Jan 22, 2013 12:03 pm

My old man used to have two sayings, translated to english they are the following:

If its raining porridge you have to fill your bowl. This was usually used when he wanted my brother and I to make use of all the opportunities we get.

The other one was "if the porridge falls on the ground" which is the same equivalent as "$#%^ hitting the fan".

But this is something I realized this morning, for me as someone with an extreme diagnosis of bipolar II, there aren't that many porridge rainstorms for people like me and the bowl we hold porridge in has a massive hole right at the bottom so falling porridge is unavoidable.

It seems that karma had a bipolar boyfriend and he broke her heart now she is out to get us. Hell hath no fury and all that stuff....

Sometimes I feel that way as well. I moved from an ok, kinda mediocre place of work to another which is a little better, but worse in some respects for someone with bipolar like me. I have not told but 1 administrator about my condition, and if I tell anyone else I don't think it would matter.

Even if I tell the one person I told how a certain factor is influencing my condition, they won't do anything about it. I can only pray that these 4 months go by quickly before summer vacation. This is after standardized testing (what was I thinking?)

I bit off more than I could chew with this bipolar. Most of the time I function well under stress, but this job has motivated me to begin therapy and medication, something I was ok without for the most part. Now that it has triggered itself out of control, I'm not sure how I can cope without these methods.

I think I just vented...

Thing get better.
You just have to stick it out.
Sooner later life gets easier. Though it never really feels that way.
Still, the world changing around you right now.
At some point you're bound to end up on top.
But if you're too busy focusing on what's at the bottom, you'll never see your turn come up.

actuallly, for me, life is nothing but one great big porridge rain storm, trouble is, i seem to have misplaced my bowl somewhere. so now i run around in the storm trying to catch as much of it as i can on my tongue but end up stepping on and ruining what has hit the ground. who wants to scoop it up and eat it, make it their own, then?
