When to go to the hospital?

Postby slither » Mon Jan 07, 2013 5:48 am

It's eating at me. My family has explicitly told me I can't put them through it again. I will not take meds. The doctors can't help me. I don't want to talk to anyone anymore. I can't spend one more day in my house. Or in my skin. The only delusion is that this will go away. What is real? Is there even a point going to the hospital since I don't want help? Going there will get me out of the house, but I can't take any more ######6 pills.

Hospitals are good places to get help and support and a place of safety. However if you dont want the meds or help then it is not going to help going on a voluntary basis. If you are losing insight and getting really unwell the nature of psych treatment is such that you might be compelled to get treatment by being committed. It might be better to consider hospital and help now rather than getting to that point. What is it about the meds that makes you not want to take them? I hope that you feel better soon whatever you decide/is decided for you.

Sorry hon - I reread this and it sounds harsh of me. I was not wanting to be harsh I just wanted to let you know what from my experience can happen if you dont get help and suggest you might want to preempt that. Anyhow it is not meant to be harsh to you. I do hope that things settle for you

Hugs

Good Gawd I don't know what I was thinking yesterday. I spent hours researching methods to end it, but now I just don't feel that need or desire anymore.

I joined a different, more active bipolar forum, and the members there all agreed I don't seem to have bipolar disorder and should get another opinion.

I feel like a broken record by now. I don't like medication because I strongly feel that my problems cannot be treated with them. It's made worse by the fact that I have such strong, adverse reactions to most drugs I take.

It's confusing how I can sink so low in a single day that I want to die, then wake up the next day and feel right as rain.

I don't think I'm bipolar, it's just the sheer contrast in what I feel all the time now.

You're so confusing. First you have that avatar picture of some guy with a really wide face, now you have another picture of what looks to be the same guy, but with a long skinny face. I'm on to you.

Of course I'm miserable. I spend all day doing nothing. Give me something to do and I feel purpose. Maybe I should clean!

Hi hon

With that other forum remember that no one can diagnose you over the internet - esp if they are not there in a professional capacity so take ppls' opinions with a pinch of salt.

I hope you feel better soon
