How long will withdrawals last?

Postby sadness2012 » Wed Dec 26, 2012 1:42 am

I'm sadness2012(dont know why its not coming up)My script of zoloft got messed up again. This has happen about 5 times in the last 2.5 years. Not one of those times did the doctors office call me back (even tho I always told them it was anti-depressant meds)so I had to go some time without my meds.I always had to call them many times or go up there. I get them from a mail order,so if I dont get it in time,I also have to pay full price for the days i'm missing so my insurance does'nt get mess up.I basicly came off 200mg/day to 0mg/day in 1weeks time. How much longer I'm I going to keep feeling these nasty withdrawals?I get my meds from my general doc not a psyc doc.Should I persue a law suit? Its happened 5 times and they still dont feel its important to call me back.I could take my life over this $#%^.PS I"M not going back on the zoloft again,I'm done with this $#%^.

I'm a little confused, is it your pharmacy messing up or your doctor's office? Either way, I would probably think about switching pharmacies if they're screwing up your order, or your PCP/GP if they're not returning your phone calls (particularly about med refills). You're not required to stay with either.

My complant is with the (nurses line)at my doctors.I dont care what meds you are out of the (nurses line,ie the presription refill line)NEEDS to call people back when they have problems getting meds. This is'nt the first time, second time,or even third time this has happened;you would think after all the times this happened 5 they would take this more seriously.I talked with my insurance comp and I can not sue;they helped me do a formal complaint.I know its confusing but that my life very confusing. Also because of my horriable withdrawals I and everyone aroud me had a terrible x-mas.I find it sad with all the people getting off there meds no one can tell me how long these withdrawals will last. Cheze2 I relize I dont have to say with my doctor.I'm on social security so limited funds. This doc takes care of my bipola meds;pain meds....neck injury, and my general needs which has become demanding in itself.I cannot find another doc to do all this,it would cost me way too much money to see three docs which is the norm down here in FL.

SurvivingAntidepressants.org provides volunteer peer support for antidepressant withdrawal, while tapering and after you quit.(This site offers information to empower you to talk with your doctor. For medical advice, consult a knowledgeable medical caregiver.)While some people may be able to quickly stop taking psychiatric medications without serious discontinuation symptoms, others cannot. Slowing the taper usually makes quitting more tolerable, reducing the severity of withdrawal symptoms.

I don't know why the makers and perscribers of this stuff publish so little information about withdrawal that websites like these are popping up.
