What am i to do?

Postby thebetterhalf » Sun Nov 11, 2012 5:10 am

I got hurt at work and they told me they dont have anything for me to do at work until the pain is gone from my shoulder. I probably need surgery and i wont be able to go back to work for at least 3 to 6 weeks. i have been going there for 21 years. never got sick and only took holidays and vacations off. Its only been 2 days and im going crazy. Work was on of my OCD's. anxiety level sucks. trust levels arent there. I feel like i was fired. I could take meds and sleep all the time but thats not productive. I like to do things and get my mind off the stress. I have to be really busy for my mind to basicly not think.
What do you do when you cant work?

Hey The Other Me,

I feel the same way when I'm not busy. My Bipolar Disorder is almost like my Tinnitus, in the sense that, it becomes more salient when I'm not busy and when I think about it it seems to get worse. I usually keep myself really busy by reading, exercising and even posting on the forum. However, what works for you might be different.

Hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself.

I have not been allowed to work for 4 1/2 years now and it is tough as I am pretty workaholic. I feel for you. I have built up other interests - primarily music and also the forum. As well as going out with friends for coffee and a chat and also getting the house more sorted. What things do you enjoy? Perhaps look on this as a time to explore things that you dont usually have time to that seem like a bit of a luxury.
