Night sweats and Seroquel (quetiapine)

Postby methacontin » Thu Nov 01, 2012 9:02 pm

I have been taking seroquel for years now at dose ranging from 200mg's to 500mg's and i am currently on 300mg's or 400mg's if i need it. Sometimes i wake up with the sheets absolutely drenched in sweat and it does not happen when i don't take it. It's a very annoying side effect to say the very least and i only have 2 options when it comes to atypical anti-psychotics due to my insurance. The other one besides seroquel is risperidone which does not work as well as seroquel in controlling my moods and can trigger off a depressive episode if i am not manic. Or atleast turn me into a zombie if i take more then 2mg's a day when not manic.

I was just wondering how many people on here if any get this side effect. I know of 2 people that do.

I take 400mg of Seroquel XR each night, and haven't noticed that particular side effect. And, for what it's worth, I basically feel the same way about Risperdal as you do.

I take 300mg of Seroquel XR and I had the night sweats really bad when I first started taking it. It's not so bad anymore but it does happen from time to time. I also take it when i wake up instead of when I go to bed.

I had night sweats on quetiapine too. I do think it would be worth seeing your Dr tho just to check there is not a physical cause for them. I really hope they settle for you.
