What side effects have you noticed?

Postby Ruby.Ruby » Wed Oct 31, 2012 3:27 pm

Maybe you all talked about this before but I'm rather new here and I want to know more about the side effects the pills cause since they don't write on the drug information things like:

"you might lose interest in anything that used to matter for you".

I'll start first :

(I took Zyprexa, 5 or 10 mg a day, for 4 years with some interruptions...)
Like I said I lost interest in everything that used to matter for me (reading, watching documentaries, trying to answer myself different questions about life and many others) and instead, in my free time I was EATING while watching TV.
I gained 10 kg (22lbs)

The others I'll tell you later..

Ruby-

Since I have declined medication, I'm not the best person to respond. However, I did know someone who took Zyprexa. She reported:

1) nausea to the extent of vomiting;

2) a loss of libido.

Glad you're off of it.

1500 mg valproic acid (Depakene/Stavzor) + 50 mg Seroquel resulted in:

* dizziness/drowsiness for the first few days, gone by now
* strange problem where I have somewhat blurry vision, but not all the time and not in all the situations -- not even sure this is med-related
* burping :P
* weight gain -- 3 kg in first two weeks. Because 15 kg on the antidepressant just wasn't enough!

Libido slightly down, but nothing unusual. Nausea -- rarely, but randomly. I can live with all of those really. But if they give me another antidepressant (I've been told to expect that) that causes weight gain, I'll go on hunger strike.
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

I found Zyprexa to be a lifesaver literally and it gave me no side effects at all. It didn't blunt my mood like risperdal tends to do. Unfortunately due to insurance reasons i am stuck with seroquel.

I am on lamotrigine, seroquel and bupropion (wellbutrin/Zyban) to treat my bipolar disorder. I get no side effects at all from lamotrigine but i get god awful night sweats and dry mouth for seroquel. Besides a slight stimulant effect wellbutrin hasn't given me any trouble and is much easier to take then most anti-depressants that's for sure.

Just stopped Risperdal (was only taking it for the two week test period). I can't even remember the first day off of it. A coworker asked me something and I hadn't even known I worked that day. Very freaky memory loss
Busparone or whatever...extremely dizzy and shaky, like withdrawaly feeling. Anyone else get this?
Adderal family- racing, repetitive thoughts
