Hey guys

I work part-time in a restaurant, full time during the summer and I have to work long shifts, usually 9 or 10 hours straight, and I only get 1 30 minute break which means I come home exhausted and starving. I always find it so hard to fight the urge to binge when I'm just so hungry and tired and feel like eating the entire fridge. Has anyone got any tips?

Just a suggestion, but I would try to pack some portioned "healthy" snacks that include some protein that you can bring to work. Even have a snack (low fat cheese and crackers, almond butter and apples, raw pumpkin seeds) when you finish your shift before you go home.

I agree with John. Have a good meal before work - look out for low GI carbs and protein particularly, as protein helps you feel full for a longer time, and low GI foods give you energy over a longer time. Pack something to eat on your break, and something to have at the end of your shift.
I used to work similar shifts in a restaurant, and when I got home, if I was very hungry, I would have something to drink and serve out a snack size of almonds or similar to pick at while I made dinner.
Speaking of drinks - try to get enough water every day too. Not only because such shifts are dehydrating, but also because sometimes thirst masquerades as hunger.
