Some of these questions can be answered here by those of us w/ our personal experiences....however if you are doing an research project...I think some of these questions would be best answered by a professional ...dr....what have you....otherwise it's more someone best guess based on personal experience and/or opinion.

Angel's right but I'll give it a shot. It might be therapeutic.

1. Binge eating is bulimia nervosa, but without the purging.
2. Low self-esteem.
3. Physically, you get tired faster, your movement might even be restricted if you're fat enough. mentally, you feel less attractive.
4. You can always receive help, it's just that the fatter you get, the harder it is. Also, failed diets and therapy can also mak it harder to help someone who feels there is no cure.
5. Therapy to improve self-esteem. Then behavior adjustment. Some people can't afford this though...
6. Some feel absolutely disgusted with themselves. Some see it as a good thing ("big is beautiful/strong").
7. Everybody knows how they look. It's acting upon it that's hard.
8. People with BED are usually at one extreme or the other. At school they can be nerds or slackers. In friendships they can be outcasts (usually girls) or seen as funny/tough (usually guys). At work they generally stick to themselves.
9. See 3?
10. Although some people will go to their friends/family, sometimes these people have no idea how to handle the situation (despite meaning well). People who have (or think they have) an eating disorder should see a therapist (or a nutritionist depending on the situation) as soon as possible (before their case worsens).

The answers above are as I see them, without adding too much detail. I realize other people might see things differently.
