Hello,
My name is Craig. I am a 45 year old male living in Wisconsin. I have dealt with binge eating since my early twenties. I currently see a therapist and am involved in an online eating disorder support group. I have been increasingly motivated recently to address my eating disorder recently because I am having concerns that it is affecting my brain health. I just learned of a new field called "functional neurology", which looks intensively at the link between the health of the body and the health of the brain. It suggests that spiking blood sugars is related in excesses and deficiencies in neurotransmitters. I want to live a fuller life, so I have renewed my commitment to managing binge eating disorder. I am looking for someone to touch base with on a frequent basis to discuss joys and concerns in regard to health eating, talk about recent events in life, and hold me accountable for maintaining a constructive attitude towards my recovery. Would it be possible to talk on the phone or to Skype (a free web conferencing tool using a web cam and a computer)? Otherwise, writing may be an option too. I am intelligent, easy to talk to, and would appreciate the moral support that an accountability partner may offer.
Sincerely,
Craig
