I have been put on new meds recently, and they have caused weight gain. Seroquel was the worst. My pdoc took me off and then put me back on to manage my bipolar. The lithium has also caused weight gain.
I'm now in an intensive treatment program for bipolar and bpd. They have put me on more meds to help stabilize me, but I have gained a lot of weight. This has triggered my bingeing and attempts to purge. I see a nutritionist at the hospital in the program, so hopefully this helps.
Does anyone have experience with meds, weight gain, and bingeing?

Please tell your doctor about this issue so they can switch medications. I was on Risperdone a few years back and i gained 60lbs in a month from it and binged a ton. Honestly, it did a lot more damage to my mental health than good. I'm sure they can find a medication that will suite you better, or if anything they can give you a medications to help keep the weight issue in check.
