Looking to support

Postby epidermis » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:04 pm

Hi, everyone!
So obvi I have BED and it sucks... but I can imagine that you are perfectly aware that it's a horrible disorder.
It's not going very well for me since I'm basically binging every freaking day :x I tried writing down my feelings..it worked but after a while I would have an urge again and it's even stronger, yikes. Trying to cope with it, trying to sort out my life and so far I've made some progress. I can't wait to share it with you and hope to help somebody out here (since I'm a hopeless mess, but enough about me  )

So I wanted to create a thread on this forum to give support to my fellow bingers..bingies...burgers..uh oh...
Anyway, feel free to post your stories here and I will do my best to give any advice or just be a pair of big ass ears and hear you out.. Sometimes you just want to be heard and that's what I'm here for!
Hugs!!! xx

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for having the mindset of giving support. I think the best way to do this is respond to threads looking for support as others create them. Also feel free to make your own if you have something you'd like support with.

As far as the journaling causing urges to become stronger, are you working with a professional? I find that first, things have to get worse before they get better, but second, it's helpful to have professional support when digging around your emotions.

Hope you are well.

I know where you are coming from I am a compulsive and binge eater. The longest I have gone with out binge is 2 weeks I have been like this since I was 11 and I'm going to be 28 next month. I have done the food journal. I was told last year that I'm gluten and lactose intolerant I finally start eating the diet memorial day and did good for 2 weeks but my craving for junk came back and I would start binge eating. I get very sick to the point that I'm crying when I do it bit I can't stop. It's hard when your spouse doesn't understand it and in my family overeating is normal.

Please try reading brain over binge by Kathryn Hansen. I tried theropy and the food journel but with no avail. This book really helps you to see things clearly and overcome this terrible cycle.
