holiday cookies

Postby twinkle86 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 11:17 pm

Holiday cookies especially cut out sugar cookies are a big trigger for me. It's just been so difficult seeing them around everywhere. I haven't binged on them yet but I don't know if I can hold out the entire Christmas season.

Hi twinkle...i agree with you: cookies are triggering! Is there anything that you could do instead to ease these urges? Do you think you can stay present in the moment and focus on yourself and what you really need instead of putting the focus on the cookies?

Hang in there xx

I just try to keep them out of the house. Still it's hard when I go grocery shopping since they are everywhere.

Thats good that they are out of the house. Hope you manage to stay strong and maybe avoid going into their sections in the stores if possible...

Keeping binge items out of the house has worked wonders for me. When I shop I use key words and actions to avoid foods that could trigger. Nothing complex, just a sharp "no" and I turn away. It's affective once you do it over and over. On the rare occasion I am at a party i usually stay away from the area where all the food is served.

Good luck.
