Does green tea boost metabolism?

Postby MSBLUE » Sun Aug 27, 2006 12:06 pm

I had an eating disorder, which I have successfully overcome, but the weight , I still can't take it off due to meds I took and the carb craving from them. I've tried dieting, exercise, nothing is working.

I read in an article that green tea increases/boosts metabolism, has anyone had any experience with this, or is it another sales gimmick?

Thank you for your advice.

I had the same problem, whats working for me is i've turned....i dont know if there is a word. My diet is like 80% green vegtables, 15% fruit and 5% meat. So i eat the way human beings are supposed to eat. And only natural healthy stuff.....never pre-packaged or frozen. And lean meat. No sweet's, or even breads.

Also cardio exorcise is great....for many reasons. But weight lifting is incredibly important as muscle eat's fat.....the more muscle you have the faster you'll lose weight.

I used to box, i was strong and healthy-ish....now i'm 270 - 280 pounds. Or have been for awhile....but i've lost 5o pounds over the last few months.

I have a green tea everyday....it dose boost your metabolism but nothing crazy. Its just good to have added onto a regiment. Plus its tasty.

5 cups of green tea a day is a good metabolism boost, it makes you feel pretty good too, anti-oxidants and everything.
Remember, though, there is caffene, which curbs apptite for most people, but ya know..
Don't get the american instant green tea, it's nowhere near as good as the real stuff.
