how do you stop eating out of control? for me it's become more of a battle that I feel like i'm losing. food is constantly on my mind. i workout out constantly, then i end up over eating and feeling guilty about it. which causes me to feel bad about myself image even more and not caring if i workout or how much food start consuming. it's a sick cycle. so how do I break it. maybe there isn't away. it's something that i just have to live with every day of my life. i don't know. thanks

Hey,
With the exercising, you need to take breaks. You should only be doing a full gym-session once every two days. If you exercise everyday your muscles will tire and you will become progressively lethargic. Lethargy has knock-on effects that include depression.
If you exercise less often then your diet will gain more control. So, train yourself to exercise less. You must also train yourself to only eat at certain times during the day - Try morning, lunch, and dinner at first. You CANNOT eat in-between these meals.
There is definately a way to "break it" and you certainly will not have to live with this for the rest of your life. Breaking the cycle does not have to be direct however - It can be indirect. With that view I advise you to look at other aspects of your life and do them differently. They should be easier to change considering you don't obsess about them.
In essence: Do. Things. Differently.
Take care,
Kevster.

with all due respect to Chucky.....because Chucky always has GREAT advice!!....I'm not sure I agree w/ him in one area....and I'd like to respectively disagree!

(no offense chucky!) .......I'm not sure if I'd advice you to eat soley breakfest-lunch-dinner and nothing in between. I think I'd recommend your seeing your dr. first as well as ...maybe...a dietician. Find out what your dealing w/ specifically and see if they can help set you up on a plan. Often.....especially in dieting....one thing they say is not to restrict yourself to 3 set meals and only those times but rather it's recommended to have 6 meals a day.....I forget exactly how those meals are supposed to be...but obviously they are comprised of meals and snacks....and obviously healthy foods. Maybe if you work w/ a dietician....let them know what your current eating habits are and food choices are....they can help you create a new meal plan that works for you. Also you can work w/ your dr. ....find out for starters if you are dealing w/ any sort of true eating disorder such as binge eating disorder or if you just need to work w/ someone ....be it like I mentioned a dietician....maybe a counselor who can help you work on areas such as personal control....and I don't mean offense to you on that....I mean that in general terms and not just food related.......
this is not something you have to live with. There are ways to deal w/ this.....but I'd start by seeing your dr. Tell him what has been going on and where you feel the trouble is specifically....he can give his thoughts on this and refer you on from there.....but my recommendation would not be to continue trying to just work through this on your own. Seek out help and have that person be finding out what fits your needs best and go from there. Does that make sense?

Hey Angel,
That's good advice and I can see the flaws in my 'Three-Meal-Per-Day' plan. Going to see a professional should be done as you have stated - I should have mentioned that in my original post.

Hey,
Thanks for that but I'm still just 23 years old. I have a lot to learn from the true masters (ie, you).

I think we all have different approaches to this problem, it's good to see more than one perspective, without feeling like we are stepping on eachothers' toes. KUDOS

I think I might have stepped on my own toe because it's been very sore recently!

(In reality it's just down to my poor nail-cutting technique!).
I know what you mean though ddee. Arguments and arrogance have no place in my life and if I suspect them ever appearing I will work to rid myself of them.
