No Christmas cards

Postby Parador » Fri Dec 23, 2011 7:41 pm

I only have a couple of cousins left for family. I almost always get a Christmas card from them. Not this year. One moved and I don't remember his new address. can't send him one. I usually send a card to the other after I get a card - guess it gets there late, but I send it. But I got nothing this year. Looks like I am totally forgotten now.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

I will send you a Christmas Card. If this is okay with you, then please PM me your address. Whatever the case, i'm sure that there are others out there to whom you can send cards? Even if you do'nt receive any, you can still send out 'love' by sending a card.

Take care as always my dear friend

I'm sorry to hear that.

Fwiw parador you were the poster that made me stop lurking and actually post something. Was one of your typical funny threads that you pull out from time to time. If your real life sense of homour is anything close to what it is here then people are missing out for not having you around them.

I agree. Parador's posts always cheer me up and I think a lot of people here feel the same way.

I haven't gotten any cards this year either. It doesn't really feel like Christmas at all.

Dont feel too bad: not only did I not get a Christmas card either, but I was diagnosed with testicle cancer and had my right testicle removed through my abdomen. That was a real holiday treat! Maybe for valentines day I will get chemotherapy! I guess Wilhelm Reich was right about the Orgones building up and causing cancer! Hang that testicle on the Christmas tree!

If I have nothing else, at least I have graveside humor. When the male nurse told me at the emergency room that I would probably have to get it removed, he said "I bet you are scared shitless!" but I wasn't even frightened at all. The graveside humor kicked in, and I even imagined it would be a joke if I died.

Waste not want not. That's what I always say. You don't want to put those body parts to waste. Did they let you keep the testicle?

Looks like I'm going to Albany for x-mas. That woman I know down there who has the 30 pound cat is separated. Her husband transferred all their money to his accounts and filed for divorce. I saw her at the Josh Bell concert down there last week and she invited me. Must get cat toys for her cats before the pet store closes.

Hope Santa brings you another testicle michijo.

Oh, good luck there Parador. Albany is certainly a shiny little town during Christmas. Reminds me of that film/book Ironweed all the sudden though (my mind always goes to such happy things!).

I think the testicle in real life is off frozen somewhere in wax being sliced up for analysis. I hope instead of a new testicle, Santa brings more oxycodones! I can cross my legs easier now! Who would want a new one? Its roomy now. :)

Re: No Christmas cards

I send out lots of Christmas cards, but when I get a card back, I don't seem to be very happy about it. It seems the cards from people who have avoided me or made fun of me in public are the only cards I care about. Something wrong here. ( I even realize that. ) I thought about placing a phone call to those relatives who sent me a really nice card and a personal message, but I'm afraid to use the telephone. (Looks like I'm putting roadblocks up :? )

My son could care less about getting a Christmas card and doesn't send any out to anybody else. All he cares about it planning his next bike trip. He seems pretty happy, too. (Then again, he only seems connected with the road :D )

Now down to business. If I really wanted to be proactive on this Christmas card thing, I would buy several boxes of cards and send them to all the residents of several nursing homes. They would be appreciated for sure! And then there are men serving in the military that would appreciate a card. Goodness, there are people who are shut-ins right here in my town! Soooooo...... if I could see beyond ME getting a card back, this need to get a card from distant people (painful people) might disappear? I'll put this idea on my Dec. 2012 calendar to try next year.

Merry Christmas tomorrow!
