I send out lots of Christmas cards, but when I get a card back, I don't seem to be very happy about it. It seems the cards from people who have avoided me or made fun of me in public are the only cards I care about. Something wrong here. ( I even realize that. ) I thought about placing a phone call to those relatives who sent me a really nice card and a personal message, but I'm afraid to use the telephone. (Looks like I'm putting roadblocks up

)
My son could care less about getting a Christmas card and doesn't send any out to anybody else. All he cares about it planning his next bike trip. He seems pretty happy, too. (Then again, he only seems connected with the road

)
Now down to business. If I really wanted to be proactive on this Christmas card thing, I would buy several boxes of cards and send them to all the residents of several nursing homes. They would be appreciated for sure! And then there are men serving in the military that would appreciate a card. Goodness, there are people who are shut-ins right here in my town! Soooooo...... if I could see beyond ME getting a card back, this need to get a card from distant people (painful people) might disappear? I'll put this idea on my Dec. 2012 calendar to try next year.
Merry Christmas tomorrow!
