Hope no one misinterpreted i agree regular exercise is great for mental health and is a really good thing to do long term!

all i meant is it doesn't get to the root cause of the anger and stop it in its tracks, but i guess that depends what is causing the anger, and tho ive been known to "avoid" i dont think i'm a "proper" avoidant, have a whole load of other issues, lol. but times ive been pissed off at myself for avoiding stuff, getting out and exercising REALLY helps. ...considering this is the AvPD forum that's probably the relevant bit!
if i get the choice i prefer to shop at the 24/7 late in the evening (daytime can be like 28 days later :P) i wouldn't care about the bread, would just swap it, if it was an accident i wouldn't mind at all, but would be pissed off if they were trying to push me around so i'd get trolley rage and either end up shoving them back with my trolley lol or find the heaviest item and "accidentally" drop it on their hand. that's probably not considered a healthy way of dealing with anger either...

i guess most of my anger just has other causes, but i can really understand the anger/avoidance thing too. and yes doing some exercise and turning the day around can really help with that sort of thing! :)

It all depends how hard you work out. When i leave the gym there is no anger or any issues about. There is a big sign in the gym and it reads "Pain is just weakness leaving the body". :D

Lol! yeah, well that's when it started coming down to the 4hr workouts lol if i do weights i train to failure, so its definitely not intensity thats the problem, lol. other stuff i like to do some sport or go outside for a run cause i find treadmills boring as $#%^ but also know 45mins-1hr is optimum for gym sessions (for fitness benefits), not 4hrs. also it just got stupid cause that's a lot of time out of the day.

agree with that.

I would agree... But what happens when getting angry is the thing that makes you scared?

Then you need to figure out why getting angry scares you. All of that repressed anger has to go somewhere. Usually it tears the person apart from the inside out. You need to let that stuff out.

This may sound stupid but what I found that works for me is driving down a road in my car with nobody around and then screaming at the top of my lungs over and over again until I feel better lol
