Thats exactly what I thought when I read this.. :) (Not to sound stalkerish, but I'm gonna have to search all of yours posts and read, I like the way you write.. )

I feel the same way about my parents.. They're very passive also. I wish they pushed me to get in hobbies that I wasn't necessarily even that into, but just so I could get out and be around people, experience.. I wonder how many parents notice a problem but don't do anything about it.. As if its not really there, if its not brought up.. It sucks to feel resentment towards your own parents cause of something so simple like that..

Wish you all the best!

Thanks for the compliments.

Another thing was, back when I was in school both my parents worked full time and they were divorced since I was. . .3. . .ish. . .I think. There was no custody struggle but I did get carted back and forth quite often on the weekends. Neither of my parents was big on driving. So even getting a ride from one to the other wasn't always easy. When I was involved in cross country/track it was all the harder to coordinate schedules. This is another thing that held me back from other activities, albeit in a small way.

Yes, my parents are passive to this day. But for much of my life, I had a mother fighting depression and working at the same time. Then my father remarried and had huge issues with that marriage. Both of these problems are ongoing to this day.
I understand my parents are fighting their own battles and they are good people at heart, but this has had an invariably unsmiling effect on my development in life.
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by ignorance. ~Hanlon's Razor abbr.

If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. ~Gustav Mahler
