What's the longest amount of time you've cut yourself off from others?

I've gone upwards of 7+ months without socializing to anyone other than my immediate family. Crazy but true.

You're definitely not alone here. I myself am going on 6 months with no human contact other than my mother. I'm starting to lose my sense of reality which is scaring me to say the least. I hope this in turn does not cause other underlying conditions to come forth.

I've been a shut-in for about six years now. I don't know how to stop living this way. I used to live a completely opposite lifestyle.

I spent about four years cut off from others outside immediate family. It almost drove me to madness, so I had to stop that. I have been partially successful in that by going to a community college. I also had a job once for three months, and another for five months, with very long gaps between. I'm currently unemployed. *shrug*

3 months was the longest time for me. probably one of the happiest 3 months in the last 10 years actually, and by that i mean the least sad. if i had a choice it would probably have been a lot longer. that thought is kinda depressing. when i went back to socialising my waters became very troubled as it were, and i sometimes find myself wanting to withdraw again. although i know that at first, the loneliness would be acute, i still miss the eventual serenity of solitude.
but yeah it seems 3 months is the shortest time here. i'm still a rookie i guess.

It's been about 10 years and still counting. Of cutting them off from me. And I don't consider it a bad thing, either.

I guess it would be the year and a half I spent living by myself. Some weekends would go by without me speaking at all to anyone.

I never kept track, but when I was in university or unemployed, I used to go months at a time without talking to anyone... from '03 to '07 I used to do this every year, but couldn't for very long. I often made myself sick with anxiety or depression after such a period and had to go live with my parents for some time, to get some small re-adjustment.
