It requires rwo 10 day hospital stays and several outpatient visits. But it will pay over $4000. So i signed up. They accepted me. I asked ane they said they would not let me out of the hospital for ANY reason while I am infected. I think that is the worst part - knowing there is no way I can leave for 10 days. And I will be really sick. I have until Friday to decide whether to do it. Sound like fun to you guys?

My roommate referred me to these studies, for which he pays for a significant portion of his college. I drove 80 miles to get screened and got disqualified because I said I had been on medication during one point of my life; I guess I figured that the fact that I had been off medication for over a year that it wouldn't be a problem (although obviously it was silly of me, they ask the questions to disqualify people). Anyway, I had to get a waiver from a psychiatrist if I wanted to get in the study; I went to the VA psychiatrist, who I had not seen in over a year, and who decided not to help and stated in a letter I asked him to write (a letter in which I hoped he would state that I had been off of medication successfully for over a year) that I have schizoid personality traits and have anxiety NOS, and that I went off the medication on my own accord, with the doctor not being aware of it. Next, instead of getting on the bandwagon to help me with my personality disorder, he scheduled my next appointment for 2 months in the future. Thank you doctor.
I already have another appointment scheduled, and hope the psych doctor will give me a clean slate of health so that I can try to get in the studies. I tried to convey to him that I needed some form of income and have had serious problems getting a job since I got out of the military, but maybe I wasn't quite clear enough on that.
