Ever turned down someone who was trying to be your friend due to this disorder.

Many times....
Not as blatant as actually telling them I don't want to be their friend though, it would take an extreme case for me to do that. I mostly find excuses for why I can't go here or there or do this or that with them and they eventually become frustrated or lose interest and move on.
Most of these were people from my work.

I would do what you would do all the time at school.

If someone is trying to be my friend I usually jump at the chance as I don't have many.
But I always treat them with suspicion.
I remember (I must have been 14-15 or so) I was at the local village dance.
I was either drunk or stoned or both. I couldn't have been there sober.
Anyway, this girl comes up to me and asks if I fancy her friend, and did I want to get off with her!
I totally panicked, said NO rather abruptly and ran away as fast as I could.
I never did find out which girl liked me. And didn't get that first kiss till I was 21.
Damn.

All the time with woman. If there was ANY chance that it could become sexual I could not deal with it. I remember a girl who lived near me who apparently had a crush on me. She would offer me rides when she saw me walking. I took a couple, but I got so panicy that I just bolted from the car when she dropped me off. I have made friends with older woman - my little old lady friends. With men I have kept my distance. Remember the scene in 40 Year Old Virgin where they figure out that he's a virgin? THAT kind of thing is why. I could be exposed as a freak. I just don't fit in anywhere.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
