Non-shmon. Someone always has to get paid.

If the place was losing money, then you came in and got it in the green, it does make NO sense why they'd fire you. The only logical explanation is that upper management changed and/or the company was restructured. If you are dealing with the exact same scheme as before, as you said... they were operating at a loss and are now around neutral... it doesn't add up.

Did you tell whoever is firing you that? That if you hadn't been commanded to make no profit, you would have made much more money?

Bottom Line-

If they told you not to make money, and then fire you for not making money, you might have a lawsuit

Don't let these pieces of $#%^ take what is rightfully yours. You let some psycho bitch take away your freedom, DON'T let these morons take away your livelihood. You are entitled to money, a job; these things YOU worked for and YOU succeeded at, and THEY are just PRAYING that you'll shut up and go away.

Get a lawyer. If you have problems with self-advocacy, this is two birds with one stone. 1. You'll have someone to aggressively advocate on your behalf. 2. Any time a company hears that a lawyer is brought into the equation, they're quick to settle. You won't get your job back, but you'll get what's due to you.

Nobody should be able to take what is rightfully yours. Nobody. I don't know who they are, but you must think of them as slime. The gum on the bottom of your shoe. Destroy them.

Just do it smartly :)

What is the difference between getting laid off and being fired? It's a euphemism. In the end, both cases result in you not having your job.

You make it very clear that you want to raise hell. You need to file unemployment, find a new job, all this stuff is a pain in the ass. Just MAKE SURE that you get every single thing you deserve. And maybe some stuff that you don't necessarily deserve, but can push them around to get. You'll be happier. That's what's important.

You are consciously aware that you are avoiding the issue, right? Also, no, in the end there is no difference. It is a euphemism.

We are not arguing. I am telling you that there's no fundamental difference between getting "fired" or "laid off", because both result in you being unemployed. I am also telling you to aggressively self-advocate because that was your INITIAL REACTION!!

Why is it no longer such a big deal? Why are you resigned to let the chips fall in their favor without emptying your clip into them first? I mean, I do KNOW why. I'm familiar with anger and resignation. It generally leads to the other person devaluing me and treating me like $#%^! What are these forums for? Break the cycle and stick to your gut. You are a winner, my friend. You're a smart ###$ guy and you deserve to be heard. What's the worst that could happen? Seriously. What's the worst that could happen. You are losing your job. Are you worried about some kind of recommendation? Don't be. Fight for what you want.
