I shouldn't be surprised. My workplace is offering me this deal. For what exactly they will not say. My lawyer called and said they are offering to only suspend me for 4 days with pay for what I did - that's one step short of being fired. If I do whatever I did - and I don't know what that is - again, I'm fired. I don;t even know what I did wrong. I suppose it could be the incident where I was accused of threatening my asistant with a bowl of pasta. They never gave me a written reprimand. The rules state I'm supposed to get a written reprimand first - suspension is the next step.
It was my assistant who was showing up late. I complained about it but nothing happened. Then I caught her showing up late and falsifying the time on her sign in sheet to cover that. I e-mailed my boss, the exec director and personnel. Shortly after that I found myself suspended. Now I am the one punished while the lying cheater has no punishment at all. My lawyer says if I don't accept this offer they are going to pursue stronger action against me. I'm being laid off in 2 weeks too. I should be able to get called back to another job in a different area of this organization - that's the main reason why I can't take the deal. I've applied for other jobs outside this place, but I haven't even gotten an interview yet. See why the suicide option seems so good to me? It's just too stressful dealing with people.

?? What did you, threaten to strangle her with spaghetti?
Still, good luck with looking for another job, mate. Hope this time you find someone to appreciate your no-bs approach. Remember the wise man/ass goes down 7 times, he gets up 8.

Let´s see if I understood well. Have you got any possibility to work in another department in the same place, with the same bosses? Is it right?

It is possible that the cut to my place could be restored. Lots of people are upset by it. They are cutting it to save money but I have pretty much proven that the cut will not save money. The place is a cafe that takes in over $200,000 a year in revenues and that pays for the cost of running it. So the place is getting cut in December but it could be restored in January. In that case I could be recalled to work in the same place with the same awful bosses. Or I could get a job somewhere with WORSE bosses. I HAVE had worse bosses than this in the past. I remember one time I had a job where they paid minimum wage and the boss yelled at me at LEAST 3 times in a 5 hour shift. I hate working. Think I'll apply for disability. I'll say on the application that I will kill myself if I don't get it.

I'm on disability. I have been for 4 months, due to social anxiety and depersonalisation symptoms.

Good for you. Don't EVER let them take it away by getting a job. I was on disability - got it when I was locked in the psych hospital for 2 years. I took a part time job and was able to keep it. But when I took a full time job they took me off of it. I know other people on disability and they don't take full time jobs because they would lose the disability - I'm the moron who went off of it. And all this time I thought I was doing the right thing by becoming a hard working taxpayer. Now if I lose my job I don't even have health insurance. I just had my second foot surgery in 3 years. Without insurance I would be in a lot of trouble.

Did someone respond to this then delete it? I hate that. There's a message in my inbox saying there was a response.
News - I got offered another job in a location closer to my home with the organization. It's lower pay too. Perfect. But I get to keep my health insurance and the 8 months of sick time I have accumulated. And I'll have different bosses. Maybe my new boss will be better than my last boss. Or maybe worse. You never know.

Yeah, that was me, Parador. I went into a little rant there about the benefit system and how benefit claimers are looked on as 'spongers', with no help from the media sometimes enforcing this attitude. And that's what makes people with genuine illnesses feel cajoled back into work when they should be recuperating. But, I decided it was off topic a bit. LOL.
Anyhoo, good luck with the new job, if you accept it. That's fantastic news for you. You're a decent guy and you deserve some decent breaks in life.

So you did it the right thing in not accepting the deal. They are the ones who have to prove you made a mistake.
Good luck, my friend.

Hey, don´t be so grumpy. Perhaps, it was me, I don´t know. I can´t remember it. I remember I wrote a post from one of my school computers and they didn´t let me to post it.
