Avoidant PD = Paranoid PD traits?

Postby asphyx » Mon Sep 28, 2009 3:28 pm

I was wondering if anyone has many Paranoid PD traits (possibly because of my Avoidant PD) or if it just me?

I would think that would be a pretty common mix of disorders. I have taken those diagnose yourself tests and never come out all that paranoid. I wonder why. It does seem like people can turn on you pretty quickly. That's more a lack of trust issue than a paranoid one I guess. It seems like a step towards paranoia though.

I fit quite highly on PPD myself. Never been diagnosed with it but I do bear grudges against those who've done me wrong and I do go looking for revenge. Don't really trust people much, and if somebody gives me a compliment I often think they may have a hidden agenda.

I don't have AVPD though, or at least I don't think I do.

I don't think these "grudges" are so bad. It's stupid how people think you should just let someone mess you up and then forget all about it so they can do it to you again. The "grudge" is a form of protection. You have to learn that some people are not to be trusted and keep your distance to avoid being hurt.

Well my main PD is Avoidant and I'm the same for all those things you mentioned. I guess I have a co-morbidity of sorts.

Anyone who compliments me MUST have an agenda . I have a lot of PPD traits, but maybe I'm just skeptical and not very trusting.
Don’t tell me I cannot go
With a wound that refuses to mend
Deliver me from all of this
I want you to quicken my end

Don’t say it isn’t so
I’m on a path that you’ll never comprehend
Set me free from all of this
I need you to quicken my end
