It's not a cure, it's just a way to overcome it. You would just stop caring about almost everything. Sure, you wouldn't be self-concious anymore, would give a ###$ about rejection and criticism and wouldn't have a bad self-image anymore. But everything comes at a prize, my friend.
Let's say it like this: You are an avoidant and have the choice to either try to become normal through therapy or become a lifeless zombie.

My mistake here! I didn´t want to mean " a cure". Coño, my own thread said it (to overcome AvdPD).
Well, it doesn´t mind. Avoidants never can be "normal" people. We have to learn how to live with this condition.
Cirvante, there is another path. Loosing the fear of rejection and criticisms, but it doesn´t necessarily imply that you don´t care about anything.
Well, anyway, you found some kind of comfort.
