And yes, you can be tacful and still say what you want to say. Being straight doesn't neccessarily mean saying something bluntly or impolitely or generally being rude. But his behaviour was very fitting in regard to his avoidant personality.

And no, I don't "have it in for you". I don't even know you and neither do I care about you.

That's what I HATE about new jobs. It stinks getting rejected but it also stinks getting the job. Unless I could get one of those jobs with ZERO human interaction.
