It's not too late here dude... ...Jyst coming up to 1AM. I imagine that you're still up. There's a French film on TG4 if you want something 'different'. I hate my teenage years more than my childhood years too, but only because I became aware of the world during my teenage years (and realised ho pathetic life is).

My teenage years sucked :\ my dad had went downhill after losing his job. He turned to drinking real bad and, in order to pay the bills, started dealing drugs with my uncle. He became very abusive towards me, beating me and cussing me because I looked like my mom and had her voice. This impacted me heavily at school. Self esteem plummeted, I dropped out of band and I never made any friends. I even dropped out of school once, but went back. It became my haven. Then, once I got into church, that's where I spent all of me days. Anything to get away from home. Eventually the old man kicked me out. I guess that's when I wasn't a teenager anymore.

Childhood is a whole 'nother story. I'll get into that when I'm emotionally capable :\

How are you doing these days Staph? I got the impression from reading your post that you are now doing much better in life, right?

Currently, my teenage years are very depressing. Realizing how bad the real world is, who wouldn't get depressed? I really just want to escape from all of life's problems, but I don't see that happening. At least I can still fantasize.

Yeah, I'm sure. I'm young, so I still think I may have a shot at life even though it may be really depressing right now. I'll just live life as it goes.

Teenage years were absolutely horrible. Between being dubbed quiet kid, horrible acne for half of it, being picked on and having a workaholic mom who was neglectful and I believe has a personality disorder.. wasn't a lot of fun.

I didn't even get good grades =/

But really, who actually DOES have good memories of adolescence? I bet even the happy-go-lucky people out there look back and shudder a little bit. I believe it's designed to be that way, eh?

Good point, emotionaltyphoon, but I think that many people look bac fondly on their youth. There are a lot of hardships and steep learning-curves to get through, but there's also the fact that you were looked-after by your parents and had more freedom than you do in adulthood. For me, however, both teenage and adult years are a load of $#%^.
