Recently I've been listening to EBM and its variants (a combination of industrial and electronic dance music, its interesting). If your interested at all in that, then check out Absurd Minds, my current favorite band. Most of the music I listen to is from independent artisits or older bands, I don't care for many of the current mainstream bands. Out of the choices presented, I would choose rock, but my interests in music moves around a lot.

I can't choose. For me, good music is not about genre. Most stuff I like doesn't fit in anywhere.

Actually yes University is very important to me also on reflection, it gives me a minor form of validation and is the only thing that gives me a modicum of focus in my life.

Isn't Kate Bush new wave or something? I really admire her, although I don't like all of her music. But she has her own style and she is really beautiful. And some of her songs (and videos also) are great.

80ies is my music (and fashion) decade. I was born too late.

Mainly classical for me, but I listen to quite a lot of rock at work. I like classic rock, but some new stuff is good. I even collect 45 rpm records. Did you know they still make them?. I just got a 2005 Foo Fighters singing Best of You and AFI's Leaving Song.

I like most country, alternative rock, metal but not the really heavy stuff. Favorites are Toby Keith, Miranda lambert, Brooks and Dunn, dido, staind, splinter, beck

Music is something i'm very passionate about and listen to a LOT of. I listen mainly to alternative, indie, hard rock, heavy metal, electronic and rap or orchestral very occassionally. \m/

I don't really like any of the options  I don't even really listen to classical music >_>; People always tell me I missing out on life because I don't like music, or because I don't like chocolate.

I listen to a lot of what I consider intense; different types of metal and rock, mostly, though on occasion I do listen to electronic or trance. Music is one of the few things I feel much emotion for these days, so that's why I listen to the stuff that I do. That's also why I absolutley hate genres like country or rap; there just isn't that same emotional response. There's also very little in the way of classical music that I like.
