Got it recently, but I haven't played it much. Not to say it isn't good - it's an excellent game. I usually prefer the gameplay style of EU3, though.

Have you downloaded any mods yet? I haven't even touched the vanilla game ever since I found my favorite mod... it blows the original Medieval 2 out of the water.

Oh, there's another good game similar to EU3 called Galactic Civilizations 2. A lot of the same concepts, but in a sci-fi setting.

Oh, ever played any of the Disgaea games, Persona 3 FES, or FFT? I also play a fair amount of Jrpgs, don't play any western rpgs though, find them all painfully cliche >.>;

FFT = Final Fantasy Tactics, one of my favorite (actually probably my only real favorite) Final Fantasys, FES is just something they added after the title of Persona 3 to make it the special edition, and considering the game is about high school students who shoot themselves to summon mythological beings, I think FES = Special edition is the least likely to deserve scrutiny for weirdness, heh. I've played most snes jrpgs, but its been a while since I've beaten them, some I've never gotten around to beating

Never played vandal hearts, vaguely heard of them. There is a few less tactical rpgs I am in to, Persona is strange, but not overly tactical, I also like the grandia series, Lunar the Silver Star Story Complete was also good, as well as Valkyrie Profile for PS1, and Folklore for ps3, even if its a sort of action rpg.

Most of the MegaTen series kind of scares me to be honest (I am a bit of a prude >.>), I still have my dreamcast (I am also an old school sega fan, got every sega system XD) and I played grandia 2 on it, was great. I tried Grandia 3, was horrible... the art style, lame story... its like if you got grandia 1 and grandia 2, smashed them together, then left it out long enough for all the fun and originality to evaporate. And most of the music sucked, so in order to tolerate the fights I'd have to let myself get ambushed so decent music would come on. /rantoff >.>;
