I love Girl, Interrupted, both the book and the movie, the movie is my movie for low moments, i like both Lisa and Susanna and yes, I can relate to Susanna in some ways too.

Wristcutters is a movie that has caught my attention recently.

I like Jim Jarmush a lot, Night on Earth (Ryder again), Deadman etc.

Oh and the claims that Old Boy inspired Virginia Tech is pretty much baseless bullsh*tt.. Dont get me wrong, im not attacking you, its the people who started that theory. If 1 movie is all it takes to start blowing peoples brains out, then there would be alot of dead bosses in alot of different jobs..

People who start such rumours do not understand mental disorders and are ignorant. Also, there are always opportunities prior to horrific events such as school shootings, where the killer could have been stopped by observing his/her 'aberrant' behaviour.

If society truly catered for everyone, then such shootings would never happen. The fact is, however, that society does NOT cater for everyone, and people who are different are typically mocked.

I don't think Old Boy made him do it or anything. I'm not sure if it's true that he watched the movie over and over agiain. They showed some of the stuff he sent to NBC. The shot with him holding the hammer like a weapon did look like a shot in Old Boy.

Was it Doom or Wolfenstein? Do you remember the original Wolfenstein? They had Nazi symbols everywhere in it and the background music was the Nazi party's theme!

Of course they tried to blame Marilyn Manson and the video game Doom for columbine. The parents and society in general should have a good look in the mirror.

The fact that they used Doom just shows how out of touch with reality these people are, that game was almost six years old then. Of course, the parents still need something to blame it on so they don't have to think its their fault which it obviously is.

That's true, entropy increase - The type of person who instantly blames a computer game or even a music artist for some event such as Columbine is highlighting their complete ignorance of human behaviour. Perhaps this type of person should go back to the drawing board and focus on how society failed to accomodate these individuals first, rather than just blaming a silly old game for it.

Asuka, thanks for the info on Wolfenstein - I had never heard about that before but it's quite interesting and funny!

It's a lot easier to just blame stuff like VTech on a movie book or video than work on the real problems society is having. Remember jerry Falwell calling out the gay teletubby? Now that was freaking hilarious.

Was one of the teletubbys really gay?
