I do some drugs when i'm feeling really #######5. I will never do any hard drugs because those will ###$ you up really bad. I can't stand the taste of alcohol so i never get drunk.

Yes. I forgot to mention that. For people who are too introspective hash can be very bad if you smoke alone as you think too much which can cause a MASSIVE PANIC ATTACK. I had it twice. I dont smoke weed anymore. Its just another way of burying your head in the sand. However I would never look down on an avoidant who went that route as it is an escape...but it does not solve anything.

I never knew that smoking on your own was that bad. My one friend that i smoke with is moving so then ill have to start talking to my dog or the t.v. so i dont have a panic attack or get a new friend, which probably wouldn't happen. :(

Does anybody know a substance that would completely wipe away the anxiety while still have you in control? Do SSRIs help, when taken in bigger dose, for recreational purpose?
Ecstasy is too much. People would right away know you're on it. Alcohol and cannabis makes you too unfocused.

I would not recommend drugs. Things CAN get worse and will if you mess your brain up with drugs. I saw my mother waste away from alcoholism - it took 8 years.

I haven't taken any ssri but they're used to help with anxiety and some other personality disorders. SSRI's also take a while to take effect, usually 4-6 weeks. So they would work to help with anxiety but probably wouldn't get rid of it completely. I can't think of another drug that would help.

I'm kind of driven to Ectasy. It's after someone close told me how it helped them to be less repressed and come close to people. I don't know though. I'm not the kind of person who does drugs, I have only smoked weed a couple of times. it did nothing to me.

I know what you mean and I guess you are right in a way, but it's not really easy when you are an avoidant. you just long for a relationship, a closeness etc. and can't do anything about it.

I don't know, I just feel I could do with a little help from whatever to become more emotionally open with people who I love.

Yeah i really want to try it to. I've been listening to electronic music for more than four years now, and been to quiet a few raves and clubbing events, but not once have i tried ecstasy. That "suicide Tuesday" or whatever they call it, really puts me off.

I think i found an answer for that: "Valium". Now the question is, how do i get my doc to prescribe it to me?

I cant blame you for wanting to try alcohol/drugs so you can loosen up and act more outgoing around people. Personally i am alot more talkative and semi outgoing when im drunk but i find weed a downer so id stick to the alcohol if you wanna meet people.

It all depends on whether you have an "addictive personality" and whether you can be smart and know your limits. To state the extremely obvious, all drug addicts use drugs, but not everyone who uses drugs is a drug addict.

Be aware that weed tends to have the exact opposite effect of what you're looking for.

The problem with valium is that it's addictive and docs are reluctant to get people hooked on it.

My mother mixed valium and booze once. Her doc told her she could have one drink per day while on it. WRONG. VERY WRONG. It messed her up so bad she didn't remember having her one drink. So she had another. Didn't remember having that. Screamed that she was allowed to have her f#@ing drink! Had another. Almost died. Too many idiot docs out there.
