Yep I hate shopping also. When I’m by myself I feel very uneasy and kind of panicky, it’s ok when theirs someone with me though. Last Saturday I went to them mall, it was so busy. That night when I closed my eyes to go to sleep all I could see were people’s faces flashing in front of me. I don’t know if they were people that I had seen that day or just images I’d conjured up anyways it was very unsettling.

I feel the same way when I'm alone, lol

and yeah, it's amazing how much it helps with someone there.

I can relate to that, too. I went to see the Dark Knight recently the day it came out and the theater was loaded outside and inside. It was so weird to be around so many people. It's all very overwhelming.
shoo fly, don't bother me.

Yeaaah, I leave empty-handed a lot when it's like that. Depressing. Sometimes, though, I manage to just force myself to block it all out and just grab $#%^, try it on, buy it.. and get out. I just wish it wasn't such a project to do so.

I quite like being in a bookstore, too. I could spend hours in there. I like that it's very quiet and I feel more around my kind of people.. somehow, lol

I like bookstores too. I like borders a lot more than the barnes and nobles as far as my two local bookstores go. Borders has computer terminals to look up books, in barnes and nobles I have to ask somebody. I always feel like the snotty ass people that work in barnes and nobles look down on me for asking about books about zombies or dragons and $#%^.

lol it's so stupid

I would love shopping for clothes if I had the money...I just hate pushy salespeople, so I would go sometime when it's busy so they have other people to bother if I say I don't need any help. Once I picked out a pair of jeans in a department store and went to pay for it and the cashier asked who was helping me and I said no one, and she apologized for that! I was like no it's ok I prefer it that way! I hope no one got in trouble for not being pushy enough since I went out of my way to avoid anyone who was trying to look helpful. I work in the food court at a mall and I always feel like a subhuman piece of dirt next to all the people who work in clothing stores, since they can choose their own clothes and I have to wear an ugly oversized uniform every day. But I could never be one of them because they get in trouble for not being pushy enough or selling enough clothes.

Hmmm... I actually enjoy shopping for books and videogames but shopping for clothes is hell. It's mainly due to a blatant lack of interest and the sense that I'm wasting my time. There's also something about the ambience in those stores that make me feel like I don't belong there.

I always feel like the snotty ass people that work in barnes and nobles look down on me for asking about books about zombies or dragons and $#%^.

Haha, I have that same feeling but for completely different reasons. I feel like they look down on me for asking for books about philosophy or old literature, like they might think I'm some arrogant pseudo-intellectual snob. I guess that when you're an avoidant you just can't win, lol.

Haha, ain't it the truth..

I dislike sales people, too. I always feel like their "friendliness" is so forced and I don't want to bother them, even though it's their job and everything..

I avoid them.

Heh, and what about waiters? lol Those are the ones that annoy me the most... Funny thing is, I once worked as a waiter and can understand that they have to be friendly wether they want to or not. Still, I cannot stand them, I simply can't. I don't like their attempts to initiate small talk or their constant asking about how are things or if I am enjoying my food. I just want to eat my food, pay and leave...
