There's thread around here with a link to a mental illness dating site. I don't know if it extends to personality disorders.... I'll go dig it up, okay? :)

If this of any comfort:
It seems like a lot of people are becoming more accepting of mental illness these days. You said you don't think you could love anyone who hasn't been through a trauma/rough experience right? Anyone who's been through something of that sort should have issues in some way and is most likely accepting of others' tweaks, even if they don't have mutual problems. ;) You may not have total empathetic understanding, but they can be accepting and understanding in their own little ways.

Now to find that thread..... 'Scuse meeeee.....

Here it is:

I haven't looking into it in depth, but it might be what you're looking for.

There are a couple that I know of, but they are pretty slow. Sungirl beat me to it and mentioned No Longer Lonely. It is for people with any mental illness. You can look at a profile and see what a person has. I was chatting with a woman from only about 200 miles from me a few months ago, but she went *POOF* and disappeared.

Another site is called Shy Passions. It even has a forum. But it is practically dead.

You could try going on a major site that has a lot more people without a picture and be honest about what you are looking for. If you find someone interesting you can send a pic. I am doing that on PoF. It is easy to send private pics there. I am NOT putting up an honest profile like that with a pic for the world to see.

But it is going to be difficult to meet someone like that I'm afraid. I would also love to meet a woman with AvPD. I think it would be much easier to relate to someone like me. I don't think I would get that fear and panic reaction with someone like myself.

Hmmm, is No Longer Lonely international? That thought just occured to me. If not, I'm sorry.

Yeah, I'd never heard of AvPD until a few months ago. :? Some other PDs I knew of.... AvPD is probably one of the newest(?). The psychological field as whole is still a pretty recent frontier.

Lol, someone's probably not very likely to blurt out to being diagnosed with schizophrenia or a PD or something out here, if that's what you meant, but they might admit having Bipolar disorder or something similar that isn't poorly misunderstood or thought too badly of... I personally would never tell anyone besides someone I feel trusting and close to that I think I used to have AvPd. Not just because they wouldn't know what that is, but erm, it's kind of embarrassing.... A person might think badly of me for it. I'm sure you know what I'm on about.
I'm sorry the world isn't so open to mental illnesses where you are. That seems strange to me in some ways... It's not like the person can always help it, and they already have enough problems as it is. But, it's easy to see why others wouldn't be so down with mental illnesses. :?

No Longer Lonely has international listings. I see 7 women listed in Ireland, but none have been active recently.

I e-mailed the girl from NLL again, but she is not answering. It says her profile is hidden, not deleted. I found someone else on there from about 200 miles away. I e-mailed her, but no response.
