The physical symptoms of AvPD are the physical symptoms of the problems that come with it. For example anxiety runs high among avoidants, and to quote Wikipedia, "Anxiety is often accompanied by physical sensations such as heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain, shortness of breath, stomach aches, or headache.". And so does depression, with the physical sensations of tiredness, sleepiness, lethargy, tearful eyes, etc. Also avoidants tend to be very neurotic so they are more prone than anyone (except maybe borderlines) to easily have the physical manifestations of negative emotions like anger, rage, etc.

Yeah I know, I feel like if I had panic attacks like people with regular old social anxiety people would take me more seriously. Not to diminish anyone else's pain, it's just really hard to have something wrong with you that no one has ever heard of, is extremely hard to explain to people, and doesn't come with any commonly known symptoms that people immediately recognize and can understand, if not relate to personally.

I'm not sure I completely understand. But I do have problems expressing emotions. I feel them - anxiety, anger, sadness, depression... but no one usually knows, I keep it to myself rather than draw attention to myself.

Does that answer your question at all? I do blush though, quite a bit. I get embarrassed easily.

Poor body co-ordination can also be a physical symptom.

I definitely experience panic attacks, but I'm not entirely sure whether that's related to AvPD. I do get nervous and stutter in in social situations. I also get very awkward body movements- like I'm trying too hard to control how they see my body language, but then it just looks stupid.

The panic attacks tend be more related to things like school work and public speaking. I had to give a presentation the other day that I thought went terribly. It turns out I got an A- for it! I was so thrilled. All that panic for nothing.

The one thing that is most prevalent with me is that lump in my throat. I've had that for about 4 months and it only went away when I had a couple of drinks. It's now gone because I'm on anti-anxiety medication, so it was obviously related.

Yeah that's me...I'm pretty sure there's nothing physical that I'm good at and I don't look horribly ridiculous attempting to do. Except maybe sex, my girlfriend thinks I'm good at least.

I don't think there is a link between poor body coordination and AvPD. There is a link between Asperger's Syndrome and poor coordination though, and a link between Asperger's and AvPD.
