Not really playing hero, just doing my job. Nobody in that place does their job. That's why it's been decertified twice. The governor wanted to shut it down and can EVERYONE there a couple of years ago when it lost certification due to total staff incompetance.
I am also a taxpayer. Basically the administration is misappropriating tax money. Even if I leave I will know that my hard earned money is being taken by the state and given to a bunch of lazy slobs who won't work because they can just sponge off the system. The dietician in the place only works two hours a day becasue she is chummy with the boss. She should be over in the kitchen helping out because they cook inedible food for the patients. But she'd rather be playing computer games.
If you are afraid of being stabbed in the back MrBrightside then just make sure you are not doing anything wrong. Then you have nothing to worry about. Or get a job working for the state. It seems then you can do almost anything you want and not pay any cosequences.
I'm going to do my job.

Update - I sent a couple of e-mails to someone in the legislature. She told me that she would bring it up at a meeting of the governing body. I got no word allowing me to raise prices. I finished compiling the numbers for the first half of the fiscal year and they continued to show a $3000 a month loss. I sent the numbers to my boss and the executive director and told them that I was raising prices 20% on everything because I didn't think it was right to waste that much taxpayer money. I asked them to let me know if they objected. They did. I got an e-mail 20 minutes later from the exec saying that I had to go through my boss. My ignorant boss who has never run a restaurant.
We met today and she caved a bit, allowing a 15% increase on some items. If we are still losing over $1000 a month in the next quarter I am going to write to every member of the senate appropriations committe and the state auditor. The governor too - why not? These idiots should be letting me do my job - they know NOTHING about it and they still must tell me what to do instead of trusting my judgement.
I tell everyone not to pay taxes - government workers just LOVE to waste your hard earned money.
